micro:bit Electronic Badge
Showcase yourself or an event!
Join the movement. At micro:bit LIVE California (Nov 6-7, 2025) hosted by Parallax in Rocklin, we created an electronic badge — a wearable piece of tech that symbolizes the hands-on learning, creativity, and community-spirit of the micro:bit world. The badge isn’t just a keepsake—it’s a working, programmable gadget built with educational purpose. The badge is available for yourself or your large-scale events! Obtain the code from our downloads page for displaying your name, playing games, along with drivers for the two joysticks. Visit our YouTube channel for short videos of Breakout, Bitmapping with a Race Car, and AstroRun (code is published for all of these under Downloads)!
Features:
- Display images on the OLED with micro:bit Python code, in different font sizes, putting real creativity into your hands
- Two joysticks, one on either side, for gaming or positioning a cursor or pong paddle
- Sleek, badge-style form factor—designed to be worn, displayed, or used as a stem learning tool; mount the include lanyard and hang it from your neck
- Ready for coding: pop in your micro:bit, flash custom animations, messages or sensor-triggers
- Event-exclusive design: originally created for micro:bit LIVE California—ideal for educators, students, makers, and micro:bit enthusiasts
- Perfect as a classroom starter, giveaway prize, maker-fair tool, or swag item that truly embodies “learning by doing”
Why you’ll love it:
This badge captures the energy of gathering together to explore physical computing and digital creation. At that live event educators and leaders joined us to share ideas, code together, and push boundaries. The badge is a tangible reminder of any experience where it is provided—while also being a flexible learning tool you can use year-round in your classroom or maker space.
Use-cases:
- Hand out to participants at a school tech day or micro:bit club
- Use as a student reward: “You earned your badge—now code it!”
- Tinker it during hack-sessions, demos, Make Faires
- Display it at your desk or educator library as a conversation-starter
- Integrate it into your curriculum: badge meets classroom, coding meets inspiration
Included in the box:
- Electronic badge board (micro:bit compatible)
- Parallax lanyard
Note: micro:bit and battery holder not included.
