Mai-Z Robot

Mai-Z is designed for students ages 8–14, roughly grades 3–8, making it a strong fit for upper-elementary and middle-school STEM, computer science, and robotics programs. Its curriculum develops core programming skills through hands-on challenges such as movement, drawing, line following, collision avoidance, remote control, and AI gesture control, while reinforcing concepts including sequencing, loops, conditionals, sensors, and problem solving. Lessons can use Microsoft MakeCode with the BBC micro:bit or screen-free programming activities, so students can progress from simple commands to more advanced coding. Students are likely to enjoy Mai-Z because they see their programs produce an immediate physical result—the robot moves, reacts, lights up, makes sounds, and completes challenges—turning coding into an active, creative experience rather than just an exercise on a screen.
